EDIT: I've updated this with inputs received on this thread or PM's to me. I'll keep it updated if new poems come in. Thanks for all the great homebrewing poems you guys have sent!

Today is my day off. I need to mow the yard and do laundry
but here I am again posting quite on the contrary..

I don’t know why because I’m quite a newbie
Felt like writing a poem that was a little bit groovy,
About making brew with a good bit of cheer
Specific gravities close and really clear beer

I love a great beer when I come here to mellow
I seek out kinship and friendship with really cool fellows
This inspiring site from TxBrew is a great place to come to
Especially when life feels like it’s about to give up on you

There is a lot to be said on the Home Brew Talk Thread
Like Old school brewers who post recipes right out of their head
Youngling brewers like me who recently picked up this hobby
Find comfort in postings from Yooper, Revvy and Bobby

Many builders and ingenious brew rig enthusiast on here
Unselfishly speak wisdom they share for less than a beer
I’ve made a few “imaginary friends” on this home brewing site
And sometimes find my self reading and posting late into the night

The DIY threads are especially awesome
And help homebrewer’s build’s come in to full blossom
I’ve tried a few recipes some posted here
And have to say the ones from BierMuncher
are certainly dear

Homebrewing is a passion that runs deep in our blood
We make brew with natural ingredients, not from some crud
I believe my humble attempt with poetic rhyming is about to run out
It was fun for awhile maybe now time for a stout

So now it is your turn to keep this thing going
Add a verse or two, keep this poem growing

from Passedpawn-
Boy works hard, end of his work day,
Another boy down the lost highway,
He gets some grub, something to chew on,
then it's time to get his brew on.

The paths not clear, it never is,
but homebrew boy, he knows his biz
Mash and boil, lauter and chill,
Pitch and wait and keg and fill!

from GilaMB-
Tits or get the f...wait.
Yeah this place is really great.

from Ceedubya-
Roses are Red
Violets are purple
sugar is sweet and
so is extract surple

from BBLBrewer-
Wake up on brew day and mash up your grain.
Wait for the lauter and hope it will drain.
Fill up your kettle, but not to the top.
Boil and cool it but don't forget hops.
Smack it or crack it or rehydrate.
Swirl and pitch and then oxygenate.
After it ferments and reaches FG.
Call up your buddies and drink two or three

from Stauffbier-
Woke up too late
From drinking too much homebrew
I gotta get up and get moving
I have a lot to do.
Off to the hardware store
To buy some wood
Building a trellis
So my hops will grow good!

from StanJohnson-
Workin’ on my next brew
Gonna try something new

Got my grains, yeast and other stuff
Sure hope that I’ve got enough

Have to make sure my wort is hot
Before I add those pellet hops

Really have to hit my numbers
Or my beer will be a real bummer

Try to use all the info I’ve learned from this site
If I do, I know my brew will turn out all right

Thanks to all my friends old and new
Now it's time to RDWHAHB

Quote:
Airborne, I saw your poem after I last posted.
Don't know how that happened I'm not even toasted.
Your highschool physics class words will be added depravity
It's not a beer song but you had me at "gravity" -Dan
From AirborneGuy-
Talking,
But not conversing.

Lecturing,
But not learning.

The lessons I get,
I don’t understand.
What is said,
I can’t comprehend.

It’s directly proportional,
But not to what I read.
Multiplied by the equation,
of the speed it goes over my head.

But if controlled by gravity,
I’d catch it in the end.

Motion in a curved path,
But no where near my brain.
If I only understood the vector,
of the velocity I’m going insane.

Quote:
Add to the poem my new Hanford friend.
I'll be over to brew with you once again
I can hardly write with out rhyming
My brain is acting weird,
it's all in the timing
Good grief
You'd think I've been drinking white lightning -Dan
from SNCoulter
Got up early went for a ride
Got back home totally fride
New I should have used sunscreen
God that sun was horribly mean
Met some good foke
Learned a dirty joke

Another from AirborneGuy! Thank you brother.
A glass full of wine
stands on the table before me.
Flavorful and comforting.
The grape is quite nice,
but 'tis beer I'd rather see.

Another from Stauffbier - Thank you my friend
One beer,
two beers,
three beers,
four....
A couple more pints,
and I'll be on the floor!

from Jancan123 (my wife)
Quote:
My husbands the brew pro,
who hangs out with the bros,
Who brews all day,
When he was supposed to mow.

He's very canny and funny,
Sometimes a loner and can be wierd,
Thank goodness he doesn't wear a bierd,
Who always bring home the money,
and sincere when it comes to being my honey.

How do we stop this madness of peoms and rhyming,
When we all dig deep to create this harmonizing.
Danny, you see what you started,
We all can't get enough of this rhyming.

Cheers!
I hope you're drinking a few beers!

Could have cleaned up my garage instead.
But this was much better you see
Time for us to drink a few homebrews, you and me.
I really like this this old one
It took off fast and was a lot of fun.
Best of wishes to you my brother
I already have two but consider you another..

Reason: EDIT added a few more rhymes.

I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to
have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and
sticks when they've invented the lighter?
