Default Show off your 2012 Hops garden!

I don't know about you but I like seeing pics of peoples setups, lots of pics, they help me form my own ideas and i'm sure there are others that could learn a thing or two as well. Here's my meager first year setup, Cascade will be on the left, Columbus on the right, lets see all your elaborate and not so elaborate gardens!

This is my first year growing, have the rhizomes in the ground now, hoping that its not too cold. 2 each of centennial and cascade. Been in for just over a week, no shoots coming up yet. Planted them in foot high mounds, with extra soil amendment to increase drainage. Anyways, here are a couple pics of my small garden. I usually cover the whole garden with shadecloth which helps keep the elements off of the new plants, and keeps everything just a bit warmer. Hope the weather stays as warm as it has (been lows 32-40 to highs 50's-60's), and I start seeing some shoots coming soon. Not sure, but hope I did not plant too soon... Will keep adding pics as things progress.

Ryan M.

Going to grow the usual tomatoes, herbs by the hops (i.e. cilantro, basil, chives) for bug deterrent, super hot peppers (dorset nagas, naganeros, trinidad scorpions, and red savinas), some red and yellow potatoes, strawberries, a couple melons, maybe some onions. Just a few of each, nothing too crazy.

Here is my row of 20 1st year cascades taken last year. Going to put up another row of 20 in a few weeks (10 Columbus, 10 Chinook) as soon as I get 5 more 20' 4X4's.

Obviously the 1x4s will be going away, as well as the huge pile of dirt... very excited for these guys to take off, as they're both second years and both only had about 7 feet to climb last year.
