What did you use to clean and sanitize your secondary with?

You should have kegged it right after the primary. That's what I do. In the mean time, let it sit for a few weeks and see what happens.

Made this as a partial mash....all it taught me was that I didn't have the equipment to do even a partial mash, so I just went out and bought the stuff to go all grain I'm going to fly-guy my MLT.

Tasted it after 2.5 weeks in the primary, and one week in the bottle. Pretty good, SWMBO likes it quite a bit. It's a tad sweet for me (most likely from not hitting my mashing temps, and getting non-fermentable sugars). I figure that it will calm down in a couple of weeks, but until then its still a very good beer; just a bit sweet.

Definitely a recipe that I'm going to have to try again!

Congrats on the "pretty good" batch AND going AG.

I use walmart brand oxyclean and then I rinse them well before storing them in boxes. Before use I rinse again with real hot water and then sanitize with star san. I did 3 different batches at the same time and the other two are good. I was just guessing that maybe the carboy wasn't rinsed good enough since it has a soap like taste. I usually go from primary to keg but I was short on empty kegs so I put it in a secondary for awhile until I had a keg freed up.

I tapped my keg of haus pale (my very first batch of homebrew) over the weekend. It turned out great! I bought S-04 by accident, but I'm really impressed with how good this beer is. It seems to get better every day too. I think I'll be making this recipe regularly.

I have a killer partial mash similar to this recipe. It's pretty much the most basic partial mash APA you can do. The only issue with mine is I use hopped LME which a lot of people don't use. If anyone wants it, they can PM me. I'm sure it doesn't come close to comparing to EdWort's, but it's good if you can brew indoors. It also costs close to $40 if you're not buying bulk.
