Default How to tell if Malolactic fermentation is happening?

Title says it all. Will it evolve gas? Or do I just wait several months and hope for the best? Thanks for help

Although it will evolve gas, it is a slow process and typically takes months. You can purchase malolactic bacterium culture at most stores that carry both brewing and wine supplies, but call and ask first.
