For those in Georgia, there is a bill stuck in committee that would increase the amount a Georgia brewpub can sell to a wholesaler from 5,000 to 10,000 barrels of beer year.

The bill would also strike the current brewpub restriction of "draft only."

This bill was introduced last year, but "died". A similar fate will happen if this bill is not moved out of committee soon. There are only 6 more days of the legislative session.

Sen. David Shafer, the committee chairman, has the power to move this bill forward. If so, it will go on to Rules committee and then hopefully to the floor to vote. If passed without any changes, it goes to the Governor's desk. It is very possible for this to happen, but unlikely

If you are in GA, contact your State (not US) Representative and Senator to get this thing passed!!

Good post! This came up and went away without notice hamstringing entrepreneurs, craft breweries, and job creators. This is an opportunity to increase GA business and should be an obvious go.

Thanks for posting and here's to hoping for a pro business solution.
