Hello Gurus, I started a simple Hefe extract recipe on Saturday and I was wondering when abouts I should dump the stuff that accumulated (yeast cake?) and what to do with it.

Hi John,
Welcome! I have a Blichman and we don't drop the trub, we just make sure the racking arm isn't sitting in it when we keg/bottle. There are definitely some responses on here, just look it up as dumping the trub (sounds so weird doesn't it).

read bernie's post on washing yeast. i just did the other day & will give it a go this weekend. seem's to be pretty simple. good luck.
