Can I buy draft lines at the hardware store? If so, is there a particular tube I should be asking for?

it depend on how picky you are. there has been research done about this:

there is another thread that i am thinking about but can find just ask google about beer plastic tant ect

i just picked up some Watts poly tubing from Lowes last night because the vinyl one i got online tainted anything it touched and so far so good. I paid under 3 dollars for 10 feet.

hardware stores normally only sell nasty tasting, oxygen permiable, thin walled vinyl hose. if that is what you are looking for, then yes.
