Default Soil pH meters

So, will someone with some chemistry background explain to me why soil pH meters like you find at HD can't be used to measure wort pH? At the same time maybe this will explain why brewing pH meters are so much more expensive.

For one, IIRC, the RapiTest meters at HD use a lead tip. They both work by measuring the electrical potential in a solution generated by teh hydrogen atom content.

Second, teh RapiTest meters will not give you accurate measurements between points.
