it's perfectly fine. it's a fermentation ring. the beer ferments and leaves a ring where it was.

Probably just krausen residue. If it doesn't smell bad or taste bad it is probably good.

Well if its are on the glass, and not in the cider, do I need to roll the carboy around to get it off the side? Sorry, first cider.

I would just leave it where it's at, there's plenty of yeasties in the cider to finish the job.
