Default First time starter.... Again

I know that this has been done many times over but this is my first starter. I am making a 10 gallon batch on Saturday using some 2565 kolsch yeast. I smacked my pack today and split it into 2 mason jars that are quart size. I used 1 cup dme with 4 cups water and split that as well. I wanted to be able to save 1 jar for a future batch and the other jar for this Saturday. Thoughts on how many times to step up and how to save? Do I need a bigger jars??

Calculate with 50 bil cell.


I get 1L on step 1 and 3L on step 2 w/shaking
