I ordered a couple of beer kits from morebeer.com. Great service, fast shipping all in all a great experience but when my ingredients arrived the yeast was a little warm to the touch and same for the hops. Afterall, I do live in the beautiful desert of Las Vegas and we don't have a local brew shop but back in Seattle they always kept the yeast in a refirgerator. So my question is, should I be worried that my yeast is dead and should not be used?

Thanks,

Rick

make a starter and find out if your yeast gets going, you have nothing to worry about. I'm sure you're fine.

the hops are no big deal, just throw them in the fridge, they're fine.

I'm sure it's fine. I live in New England and all my ingredients tend to take a week or more to arrive, so far I've never had a problem with yeast viability (I do order the cold pack but it is always completely melted by the time my package arrives).
