Default All-Grain - Dead Hearted IPA

Tasting Notes: delicious

My first IPA. it started as a two hearted clone but I added 1# vienna. It came out way better than I expected.



11.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 84.6 %
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L (40.0 SRM) Grain 7.7 %
1.00 lb Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) Grain 7.7 %
1.00 oz Centennial [8.70%] (60 min) Hops 29.6 IBU
1.00 oz Centennial [8.70%] (20 min) Hops 17.9 IBU
2.00 oz Centennial [8.70%] (5 min) Hops 11.8 IBU
1.00 oz Centennial [8.70%] (Dry Hop 14 days) Hops -
1.00 tbsp 5.2 buffer (Mash -30.0 min) Misc
1.00 items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 min) Misc

I'm brewing this now... any idea what your pre-boil gravity was at? Mine hit 1.044, which seems low.

No idea what the preboil was, but yeah seems kind of low, you could always boil longer, but end up with less volume.

Here it is at 100 days from brewed and 84 days bottled aged. The grape fruit has really come out.
