Default Elderberry

I really want to use Dried Elderberry in my next batch. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do so without creating to many off flavors?

You could dryhop with it, it smells great.

Not yet, but my wife is a big fan of Elderberry liquor, and it smells fantastic. A little flavor contribution wouldn't be a bad thing, especially in a pale ale. I can't see dryhopping with dried flowers adding much, if any flavor.
