Finally sprang for it earlier this week. Came today. Turns out the temp controller on my lager fridge is a full 5 degrees high.

Looking forward to some very relaxed brew days with this baby.
 
That's the Thermapen- useful right away, and you'll find that it works just as well in the kitchen or for whatever else you have to measure. I've used it to measure the temperature output of the furnace ducts....the list just goes on.
 
My cooking skills have increased greatly with that little sucker. I gotta say, god forbid I one day break that bad boy but if I do, I'll definitely be buying another
