I have been looking for a cleaner way to do sight glass and found these. Have any of you Pioneers of Beers ever tried these?

Looks like the fittings I used to use on my paintball gun.

Are they cheap enough to buy one or two to experiment with?

That's what I use for my sight glasses, weldless. Just sweated a washer on the inserted end to provide a strong back to clamp down. Polycarbonate sticks right in.

A "T" is better than an elbow because you can mount a thermometer through it. Very convenient.

Bobby_Ms sight glasses are superior to many others. I reviewed it here. Good luck.

My concern is how hard a setup like Bobby's is to clean. I am trying to make a connection that can easily disassemble for cleaning or repair and I want to use a Pyrex tube which I think Bobby's is plastic which scratches and clouds easier.

Can anyone post a picture of one of my sight glasses that has been used for like 20 batches? Do they really get cloudy?

Those Legris fittings look pretty cool though. The best price I found was a two-pack for $200 at drillspot.com. Hide ya kids, hide ya wife.

If you really want to use pyrex tubing, just use a regular compression fitting with the ferrules replaced with orings. You HAVE to put a protective shroud on no matter what.

How do you connect your tubes to your fittings?
