Hey guys I bought a WYEAST 2633 Octoberfest Direct Pitch Activator on 9/17 and forgot to get it out of the rest of my supplies and put it in the fridge. It's been sitting on my counter at around 72*. Is this still usable? I understand it might take longer to activate, or should I just go get new wyeast?

Planning on brewing tonight.

Should be fine. If the yeast had been in a beer bottle for that long, you would still expect it to be OK.

They store it in the most optimum conditions, so it will keep for as long as possible. ......... It just keeps better when stored at fridge temperatures.

Were you not planning on making a starter with it? There is no where near enough yeast present in a wyeast pack to effectively start a strong lager/pilsner fermentation.

But if you make a good starter and it shows good health go with it. It should be fine.
