Default Identify the OP

Is there a way to identify the OP down the thread? When it gets several pages deep, I sometimes forget who the OP is and have to go back to the top of the first page, which can be inconvenient.

If the OP is Laughing_Gnome_Invisible, you can usually tell by the tone of the thread.

Other than that, I don't know.

They are called "tabs" internet browsers invented them for a reason.

-->"Open in new tab" or "Open in new window" if you are running really old browsers.

I guess I should have directed the question to a moderator (I thought that was the intent of this section). I was wondering if the design could be changed to identify the OP on subsequent posts in his/her thread.

Oh, this is the right place! We read all of the suggestions and implement as many as we can do reasonably!

This might be the strangest request I've ever seen in here, no offense.

I frequent other forums that do it, and I find it pretty useful.

Right above their avatar, or some other sensible place, some boards add a "Topic Starter" label to any post made by the OP.

It makes it really easy to do things like quickly scan through a page to see if there have been any new updates from the OP.

i concur wholeheartedly. i frequent a number of forums for this and that. at first i thought the "OP" designation was silly, but in no time at all i came to find it very very helpful.

good suggestion!

I've wanted to reference the OP before and couldn't find the name. It might be handy.

Then again, you could always click on the "First" link and open in a new window for a moment...

If you go to the top tool bar right under the page numbers under the "Display Modes" tab, change it to Hybrid.

It posts a box above the thread with the posters.

edit: you can also change that in your user settings so it will always come up.
