Default Lemondrop Melon? Wine perhaps?

Yesterday I was grabbing a few things at the local Sam's Club and I ran across a big stock of something they called "Lemondrop Melons." It looked rather like a cantaloupe/muskmelon that came out bright highlighter yellow instead of light brownish, looks like a honeydew on the inside, and has an almost unsweetened "skeeter pee" aftertaste to it. I was thinking of following one of Keller's recipes but don't know if the cantaloupe or honeydew versions would really fit the distinct taste the melon provides.

Picture of one of the melons although these are much bright yellow:

Has anyone seen or tried anything like this?
