Good day, I've just got my 4 Norther Brewer kits and am going to go out and buy the yeast. For the kits I will be using these yeasts and the Wyeast Smackpacks.
Chocolate Milk Stout - 1332 Northwest Ale
Craibou Slobber - 1332 Northwest Ale
Cream Ale - 1056 American Ale
Waldo Lake Amber Ale - 1450 Denny's Fav 50
I've never done a yeast starter before so my question is do I really need it? My homebrew buddies say its worth it.
I don't have the 2000ml starter bottle and am wonder about what I can use. I've got plenty of carboys (glass & better bottle) but wondering if there is a simple way to do it.
That then brings up more questions on how to do it and when. I'm going to do more searching and get a better idea but wanted to get this post out for feedback as I hope to brew this upcoming weekend mulitple times. Some of the kits call for a yeast starter some don't so I may do the ones that don't first so a starter can have more time to ....well start.
Thanks in advance for any feedback/suggestions.
