I'm using Nottingham for the first time.

The Original Gravity is 1.060

Due to the size of the fridge I'm currently using I had to use a 5 gallon glass carboy (which must really be 5.5 gallons?) So there is some headspace but it is full up to the point that the carboy starts to curve up towards the top.

It's cooling to 62F then I'm going to pitch.

With that amount of headspace and OG should an airlock be ok, in your experience or should i just put a blow off tube on?

I never really trust the seal on blowoff tubes so I prefer airlock.

Just use the blow off tube.

Airlocks, carboys, and peak active fermentation are incompatible. It is like making a bomb. Don't risk it. JMO

Good thing I went with the blow off tube!

Should I clean the water or anything or just leave her be?
