Would love to hear some more feedback on this one. I've been wanting to re-create this for a while. I made this a while back and was happy with it but like you said the 80% vienna makes me completely 2nd guess it. And since I'm in Germany it's very hard to get a bottle of this fresh.

I'd like to brew this in about a month, I find it fascinating that such a well-received clone was made by reddskinnfan and then the brewers came out and said they used 80% Vienna.

I am interested in the experiment too, and will be doing my hop schedule with the 80% Vienna, 10% Munich, and 10% Pils grain bill. Since I live extremely close to Troegs, I can get it fresh, and will do a blind taste test with my friends who have had mine/theirs side by side already.

Will keep all the readers in the loop with how it comes out.

I don't have a hopback, so I added the hopback addition at 0 min, but I probably should have made it a 20 min add

It's in the fermenter now, and I got a sack of Vienna , so I'm doing this until I get it right, dammit
How did this come out?

I think it came out pretty good. I can't really remember exactly what NN tastes like, so I'll need to do a side by side when it is released. I brought it to a meeting, and most people liked it, but one said it was not cloned and another friend of mine did say it had a little bit of an off flavor, but he couldn't say what.

Will be brewing the 80% Vienna version of this with my hop schedule, tomorrow.

Wish me luck!

Did the beer with:

80% Vienna
8% Munich
8% Pils
4% C40

Hop schedule as usual. Just put it in fermenter at 60F.

Post back with your results. I'm brewing this in a month. Which yeast? I was planning on using WLP001 or Pacman
