Some friends and I were brewing a batch of beer from a kit and the priming sugar got added instead of the liquid malt extract. We realized our mistake, added the malt extract and completed the initial brewing process by adding our hops and then siphoning into a carboy. How will this affect the final outcome of our beer? Any ideas on what to do to minimize the effect of this mistake on our final brew? Thanks!

Nothing to worry about, your ABV will be a little higher, but probably not even noticeable. Just make sure you get some more priming sugar when its time to bottle.

You will be fine 4-5oz of sugar wont ruin your beer when i made kits I would seperate brewday ingredients and put the bottling sugar elsewhere

Tiny change that you can ignore. Just get more priming sugar and prime as normal.

Doesn't matter, all the sugar will ferment anyway.

The fermentation of 5 ounces of priming sugar only adds .003 gravity points to your gravity. So that alcohol content increase is really negligible.
