Default Enough headway to run an airlock?

I am making a 2.5 gal brew in a 11 litre carboy. I came out a little shy after my boil with about 2.2 gallons. It turns out, my blow-off tubing won't fit into the carboy plug I have, but one of my airlocks will. I am using Safbrew SS-06. Will this combo net me a brew-volcano?

it might, depends on how active your fermentation is. is your airlock a 3 piece? if so your tube might fit on the inside of your airlock
