Recipe Type: All Grain   
Yeast: WLP001   
Yeast Starter: 1 liter   
Batch Size (Gallons): 5.5   
Original Gravity: 1.060   
Final Gravity: 1.014   
IBU: 60   
Boiling Time (Minutes): 60   
Color: 8.5 SRM   
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 14 at 67*F   
Additional Fermentation: 2 days cold with jelatin   
Secondary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 7 at 67*F dry hop   
Tasting Notes: This is my latest Hop variety twist on my house IPA.   

Awesome hop forward IPA for the first several weeks then mellows out to a well balanced easy drinking beer that goes down very easy. So far I have received more comments on this beer than any of my others to date.

Mash @ 152 for 60 minutes
70% efficiency

12 lbs. US two row
0.75lbs Crystal 60

1.00 oz Chinook (10.0%AA) first wort hop
1.00 oz Citra (13.4%AA) 15 minutes
1.00 oz Chinook (10.0%AA) 6 minutes
1.00 oz Citra (13.4 %AA) 1 minute

1.00 oz Citra (13.4%AA) Dry hop 5-7 days
1.00 oz Chinook (10.0% AA) Dry hop 5-7 days

California ale yeast in a 1 liter starter pitched at 67*F for 2 weeks then Dry hops pitched in primary for 5-7 days.

That sounds awesome! Citra is quickly becoming one of my favorite hops to use!

How is it as a dry hop?

With this dry hop combination it's a dank, citrus hop sandwich during the first couple weeks in the keg. I'm going to use this same recipe in the future just adjust everything down to a session pale ale around 4.5% which should be awesome.

Where do you guys get your Citra hops from?
I can't seem to find any where I'm from in Western Canada but I was hoping to find a decent company in the US that I could mail order from.

Looks like Niko brew still has Citra in stock. Site says they ship international, so they should be able to help you out. Recent show with the brewing network had loftus hop ranches on and I believe he said they will have a bigger crop this year, which will be nice.

This sounds great! I plan to make an extract version of this, but I only have 1 oz chinook, and 6 oz of citra. Do you see anything wrong with switching out the chinook for citra during the boil? I'll save my 1 oz of chinook for the dry hop.

Also, do you use pellets or whole leaf in your dry hop?

I think an all Citra IPA would be great it just might not be the same. The Chinook brings some assertive Dankness to balance the fruity Citra. I am biased I think simply because I love Chinook in hoppy beers.
If you are a hoppy brown ale fan I have a killer Oatmeal Brown ale recipe.

10 lbs pale two row
1 lb quick oats
10.oz pale chocolate
8. oz special B
8. oz crystal 60

Mash for 60 @ 154

1/2 oz Chinook FWH
1.0 oz Cascade @15
1.0 oz Chinook @5
1.5 oz Chinook @ flameout with a 15-20 minute whirlpool.

Shoot for 40 IBU's and 5.4% abv

Ferment with US-05, 001, 1056 until done. Kind of like Arrogant bastard meets oatmeal brown.

I'd be interested in seeing what you came up with for the session pale ale you mentioned in post #3. Sounds interesting.

I actually never did the session strength pale. The last beers I have brewed though have all been under 4%.
