I was reading another thread about Sierra Nevada's Black Juniper Beer and that sparked my interest. I want to brew an ale with juniper in it. Nothing to strong but just something extra, something foreign to most people. Anyone messed with it? Anybody have a recipe on hand? I was thinking an amber or maybe try and copy Sierra Nevada's beer.

I really enjoyed Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp Black Juniper Ale. Here are the details from their website, hope that helps you get started.

SN's Juniper Black Ale was a fantastic beer! If you have good results, please report back.

What I can say about it is that the hops and juniper blended in very nicely together, and it was quite bitter. Kind of like chewing on a stick (in a good way). But go light on the smoke malt. I didn't notice it at all. SN uses smoke malt in their brown ale too, but just a touch (<1%: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/clone-sn-tumbler-help-192070/#post2230283). I wouldn't be surprised if it's more here, but not much more.

Any way you go with this, good luck!
