yes. I do it all the time, and don't do secondaries ever. Helps to cold crash (33F).

Of course you can..a secondary used for clearing is a relic of the 70's, 80's, and 90's...kind of like a variety FM radio station.

So when are you adding it to primary then? After FG has been obtained? If so, how long do you leave it in the fermentor afterward? Are you just pouring it in or is there some gentle mixing involved? I'm curious about this topic also.

There are many ways to do it. I like to add it to the keg. I boil a cup of water and let it cool to about 180-ish, then dissolve a half packet of gelatin in it. Once dissolved, I pour it in the keg, no need to cool, and rack the beer on top of it and toss it in the kegerator. I have crystal clear beer in a few days.
