Organic IPA: extract & specialty
Wanted to share this recipe with the HBT crew. TASTY results.
I will be repeating this, possibly with some small variations, including more hop complexity via other varieties. Suggestions welcome on that front. I do like the cascade bomb though. yum.
Used 1/2 tab whirlfloc @15, good clarity.
1 lb breiss c-60L organic steep to 170 in 3 gal
3.15 lb organic light malt syrup @ 60
6 lb organic light malt syrup @ 30
1.5 oz cascade pellet @60
1.5 oz cascade pellet @10
1 oz cascade pellet @1
2 oz cascade whole, dry hop. 6 days.
Fermented at ~ 68 degrees beer temp.
~ 1 month in primary, secondary only for dry hop time.
Batch came up slightly short on volume, so OG 1078, FG 1017.
Primary: Rotating two batches of Apfelwein, 10g of my "Organic IPA"
On Tap: Not so Pale Ale, Session Porter, Apfelwein
