I brewed up 10 gallons of a porter the other day. One batch that got split between two fermenters. I pitched one pack of Wyeast 1318 in each waited two days and nothing. Pitched another in each and nothing. I had a starter going for another batch using Wyeast 1056 and split that and pitched it and both appear to have began fermenting started developing krausen. However, only one of the airlocks is showing any activity. I replaced the airlock to see if there were any leaks but still the same. Any one seen this before?

as others will say, "Airlock activity is not a reliable sign of fermentation."

Bucket lids rarely seal good if they dont have a rubber gasket.

So take a gravity reading and see where its at.

I'm using a glass carboy. Just seems odd that C02 wouldn't be a byproduct of fermentation. Fermentation may be occurring but it doesn't seem like a healthy fermentation. Guess well see in about a month how it tastes.....

The yeast are probably fermenting at night, jut to mess with you

Just give it a while and take a gravity reading, it'll be fine I'm sure!
