Keep it simple and refer to amb1935's link and let that calculate the wire size properly instead of guessing. It seems to fall in line with NFPA specs.
And that is also why everything in the circuit must be rated (minimum) for the size of the overcurrent protection.

They had that stuff on clearance. 3000V/65A cable for $2.20/ft.

They don't carry that particular cable any longer but have other similar stuff.

Super vutron was the stuff.
