Saw this recommenced in a book called "Yeast, The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation"

sounds interesting. I'd like to see some info on that myself. I wonder if it's like the stuff they say is in dry yeast sachets?

Yes, I use it to rehydrate dry yeast, 1.25g to 1 g of yeast, works great

I first found/used it with a mead and started using it for a dry yeasts
