Damn Yopper that is awesome of you. Looks like you guys/gals had some fun doing that. If I ever get the time to go visit my relatives up in the UP I might just have to drive over and say hey.

Not sure exactly when we are leaving, and haven't really laid out a schedule, but stopping at you house, Yoop, is definitely on the agenda!

Trust me, guys, plan to attend a Yooper Brewday! Food, beer, good conversation, fun and games... What is not to like?

I really hope that we can make our UP tour and the brewday coincide.

P.S. - If you are planning on touring the lake on the pontoon, it's probably a good idea to make sure your Life Insurance policy is current.
We'd love to have you anytime you can make it. You are more than welcome to stay at the cottage or at the house in town anytime during that week. We can also take you to some interesting areas if you're inclined- the Sylvania Wilderness, or some cool waterfalls. You know there is beer on tap and we may have some hard lemomade on tap if Kris likes that.

I can't wait to show you the new electric HLT and control panel that Leon built!

Anytime! We love having guests and Bob loves cooking our "native foods" for our guests!

I can't wait! I am very excited to see Leon's panel. I am working towards building an electric brew rig myself, as you know, and might have to copy some of his engineering for my own use!

I will mention the tour thing to Kris. That is the kind of stuff she wants to do while we are up. We had a fantastic time at the waterfalls last time we were up (excepting for the hangover in my head) for the brewday!

By 800 miles you of course mean round trip right? by my guess you are less than 400 miles from Yoopers place. that is about a 6 hour drive to enjoy some U.P. hospitality! I will be there after the brewout, around the 15th, and I'm only 2,000 miles away.

yep, round trip. google says over 7 hrs one way. if i could take a few days off work, it might be feasible, but i'm supposed to hold on to all my vac time. i may or may not be laid off for the entire month of october.

Wondering if I get the wife to stay home I could just ride the bike there. 45 MPG vs. 17 MPG. Harder to bring beer but I'm sure I could figure something out. It does have hard saddle bags.
