Still drunk eh?

Results time!

There were some really great beers in the competition and it was neck and neck between several at the end. We actually had three beers score a 40.5 average so we picked a favorite among those to call the winner and awarded the other two with a second place tie. So now, onto the winners

1st place: Randar's ESB Yeast 4
2nd place (tie): AnOldUR's Befuggled Ordinary Bitter
Randar's ESB Yeast 2
3rd place: JuanKenobi's Ordinary Bitter

Congrats to the winners! I'll be emailing everyone their scoresheets tomorrow. I'll be sending the winners their prizes soon (Have to bottle my 11-11-11 first)

Sweet :-)

Brian, can't wait to see the score sheets. I knew my Best Bitter was a little off, but good to see the ESB (a derivative based off your recipe, BTW) do so well. I will be sure to post methods and yeast sources for each.

All scoresheets now sent out. A few disclaimers:

There were some beers with very large differences in the scores between judges. That's just how it turned out and since this is a casual competition I didn't see it as a big problem. So if you got one high score and one lower score, just take the comments for what they're worth.

Also, my wife participated in some of the tastings but as an inexperienced drinker, her comments are just for fun and to show an outsider's perspective. She only added comments, not scores, and her sheets were not used in the determination of winners.

Lastly, like I mentioned before, we were completely honest and didn't pull punches. If we found a flaw or didn't care for a beer, we said as much. Hopefully, the comments and suggestions can be of some help but if you disagree with them, feel free to disregard them.

So that's about it. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

Congrats to the winners and thanks again Brian for doing this. Scoresheets were well done (maybe a bit generous on my beer imo, but I usually feel that way).

Thanks for getting the sheets out so quickly!

Overall I feel that my beer scored pretty well considering that it was only 19 days old when it was judged!

Let that second bottle age out a bit and please revisit it if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks again KB!
