Default This solved my stuck sparges

My 50% flaked wheat wort just drained in record time.
I'll never do another AG without this simple add-on.

Great idea! That would help keep out the particulates too (which I've been having an issue with). Where did you get the bag?

It'll certainly prevent your manifold from clogging up, but it won't solve the issue grain bed compaction

True, but you can always stir the bed and if necessary add some rice hulls.

It was a 1 gallon paint strainer from Lowes. They sell them in 2-packs for a couple bucks. They also sell 5-gallon strainers.

Go to the paint department.

Compaction did not have any effect on this. My wort drained off lickity split (did I just say that?). Second and third sparge with no stir drained just as fast. This was a 50% wheat recipe mind you and I'd prepared for a long night of blowing tubes to loosen stuck sparges.
