Default Stainless Steel vs. Aluminum

I have been looking at several options for all grain brewing. Is there a significant difference between Stainless Steel mash tuns versus Aluminum mash tuns? Do they create different tastes, properties in your brew? Has anyone done any research on this?

Do a search for Aluminum vs Steel, or "Is aluminum ok." It is a widely debated topic, but I beleive the majority of us feel that aluminum is safe for brewing usage. I use and have had no problems

Neither should leach off flavors. SS conducts heat less than aluminum, so there's that. Also SS can be cleaned by harsher cleansers. Whatever floats your boat.

Stainless steel: shiny an expensive

Aluminum: cheap and adequate

I see no reason to spend the money on stainless unless you like shiny things and have money to burn.

I got a 7.5g aluminum turkey fryer with burner for $70. The same stainless pot would cost well over $150 for the pot alone
