Default tri clover gasket ?

I have about 40 tri clover conections on my rig, that is not quite complete. It is all hard piped with 316L stainless. I already have about 20 PTFE gaskets that i have been using for mock up, but there are many different types of gaskets available PTFE, BUNA, Platinum Silicone, EPDM, Tuf-steel etc. etc. My question is what is the best material for the application? I am sure some of them are more flexible than others, some are more expencive than others, they are all food safe. and all fit within the temp range we deal with, I just need some opinions before i place an order. Thanks for the help.

Sanch, I would really like to see a photo of your rig. Derrin who is a vendor on this site (Brewer's Hardware) has some good info on tri clover fittings, connections, sizes, etc. He also touches on the different gaskets that he carries and their uses, scroll down to the bottom of the page on the attached link for gasket info, if you haven't seen it already.

Hope this helps with your order decision.

PTFE gaskets are used when you want to turn the fitting, like a racking arm. For simple connection purposes on food grade equipment (breweries) use silicone, it's flavor neutral, very flexible and high temp.

here is a link to my "build" thread i think it doesent get much attention because of the title. I will be posting up more tomorrow i have been slackin. just a word to the wise dont even bother with hard pipe'd tri clover unless you have #1 fab skills #2 ready access to a tig welder and somebody that knows how to use it #3 deep pockets!!! I was fortunate enough to find all of my tri clover stuff at a scrap yard!!! i bought 400 LBS for 88 cents per LB. I made a few hundred bucks selling off the stuff i did'nt need. Fabricating this stuff is very tedious and time consuming. But it is cool as **** and well worth the effort !!! if you are up for it.
