Hmm well op not sure how far north of me you are? I say plant em you have a few days after planting before you will see shoots. Then if there is frost in the forcast cover em. I however have not worried. I have beem frosted on 2x since shoots 1st appeared and all is good.

I have 7 new ones growing in 1 gal. pots for now. I move them into the garage at night and move them out in front of the south-facing garage during the day. In a couple of weeks when I get the planting area worked up, I will transplant them. I picked them up from the LHBS last weekend and split the rhizome into 2, each had an "eye" and planted each separately. They were pushing through in about 2 days.
All I ask is three beers apiece for each of my co-workers...I think a man workin outdoors, feels more like a man if he can have a bottle of suds.
