NEW, to me

I still haven't finished the fridge... actually I have barely started but the beer is carbonating away

I plan on fermenting in the corny as well... but when i transfer isn't it going to grab all the trub at the bottom and transfer that as well?

I like how you're using an organic chem and a bio book to support your brew. Ironic.

usually if you want to ferment in the corny people chop an inch or more off the dip tube on the inside so it doesn't suck up the trub.
