Default Camco quality control

FedEx just delivered my new Camco ULWD 5500W Lime Life element. Woohoo! When I took at look at it, though, I became a little concerned. It's clearly in the original packaging, but if I didn't know better I would say it was used or a factory second. The element has several scratches in it that go down to bare metal. But the packaging is intact, so this had to happen before it was shrink wrapped. The hex piece between the threads and terminals also looks a little beat up with dings and dents in it. Is this common for these elements or did I get a bad one? I should probably just relax and have a HB, but thought I would ask.

Call the vendor an tell them. I'd not be concerned with the scratches but the damaged threads would concern me. IMHO.

I agree. I'd try to get a replacement.
