Tasting Notes
Malty caramel up front, firmly bitter to balance.
I only post my recipes that are very well liked by everyone that tries them, and this is no exception. This ESB is based on the recipe in "Brewing Classic Styles" with several small adjustments. It leans a little to the sweet side initially, but the bitterness is firm and balances nicely. Very tasty. I think I'll be brewing a lot of this. Enjoy! :mug:

10.00 lb US 2-row
0.50 lb Crystal 20L
0.25 lb Crystal 120L

2.25 oz. Willamette [4.5%] @ 60 min
1.00 oz. Willamette [4.5%] @ 0 min

Safale S-04 English Ale Yeast

Mash at 152 F for 60 mins.
Boil 60 mins.

I brewed it yesterday. I'll post how it turned out in a few weeks.

Cheers

This one is a winner! came out great! may brew this again soon with just a bit of victory malt subbed in or flaked barley. my only addition/change I would like to try. Great as is! malty goodness.

I recently brewed this again using Maris Otter this time instead of 2-row and used German Northern Brewer hops. The sample was very good, can't wait to get it tapped!
