After my triumphant failure brewing another Double IPA on Saturday, I want to get some feedback on this recipe/process before I buy the ingredients tomorrow. Here's the plan:
Dogfish Head 90 Inspired Double IPA
8 lb DME
1.5 lb Munich Mat
1 lb Carapils
1 lb Two Row Pale
2.5 oz Amarillo 90 min - Flame Out
0.75 oz Simcoe 90 min - Flame Out
0.5 oz Colombus 90 min - Flame Out
WL California V
I plan on using 1.5 gallons of water for mashing my 3.5 lb of grain. I'll mash in at 155 or so and hold for an hour to an hour and 15. I will sparge with 1.75-2 gallons of water. I'll then add the 8 lb of extract, bring to a boil and begin the 90 minute hopping and boil.
Does this make sense? Any reason for this one to go belly up? I just want to double check this one with the vets to make sure. I checked the recipe with Tasty brew, but I just want that pat on the back. The reassurance of years of experience. Thanks very much!
