On average per brew, how much is given to friends, family, etc?

In the past I have pretty much kept the beer for myself, but lately I have had friends ask for 6 packs. I give it to them with a $5 "deposit" and give the deposit back when they return my bottles. Most of my buddies just tell me to keep the $5 and put towards the next brew.

I usually end up giving away 12-18 beers per 5gal batch.

I'm lucky if I get 10 bottles out of the whole 5gal batch. I'm happy to give my beer away, but the hoarding impulse is incredible! I have to really fight the stinginess...

"Can't you just have some water or something? Do you know how precious this beer is!?"
Nothing until I figure out if I can make it happen over in the UK.

Depending on the particular batch, I can give away up to half of my beers. I recently brewed a full five gallons for a friend that is alergic to hops, but when someone really appreciates what you give them it makes it worthwhile.

I don't give away any really! Not being a tight scotsman (frugal really) it is just that my mates all just drink Cascade Draught, cans, bought in cartons (24 cans).

Gave a couple of long necks to my plumber the other day when he mentioned that he used to brew. Think it helped the bill. Also have given a couple of the ye olde rippers away, but not many!

I would if people wanted to drink them though.

s : Ginger Beer, Wheat Beer
Secondary :
: all drunk
Drinking : A Lot.
Next Up : Wheat Beer with grainy things

I give away about one case of each brew. It is my way of giving back to the community!

It's hard to quantify since I keg most of my beer. I do notice that I fill at least a couple growlers from each keg, .5-1 gallon each. And sometimes a line forms at the Usher during social evenings.

This is the ORIGINAL Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. Nature's choicest products provide its prized flavor. Only the finest of hops and grains are used. Selected as America's Best in 1893.

At a minimum, a 6 pack per batch.....though, I usually share/giveaway plenty more.

I have a few regulars who beat a path to my door and I bring brew to social events for others to enjoy.

I bottle the beer I will drink at home in pints, the rest, in 12 oz bottles, are give aways. I usually end up with 12 to 18 twelves, and most of those make it out the door.
