I just saw a thread in the General section about adding Olive oil to beer, but did not see much on the addition to mead. Has anyone here used it to help in fermentation ? If so when do you add it ? During the steep of the honey or when the yeast is pitched ?

I would just like to cast my vote for "no".
Why would you want to do that?

Well my thought was their is not much nutrients for yeast in mead to begin with so why not help them out ? Did not know if this would help or just be a bad thing.

To help the cell growth and skip the aeration?
I guess you have no idea what olive oil can do in the fermenting wort/must, so check this out and this thesis.
