Default Stainless Fitting... Moly-coated?

So I bought a compression fitting off eBay, open it up and the compression nut is stamped 316SS but a dark dull color, not a shiny one like I've gotten in the past and like the rest of the fitting.

Is this moly coated? It looks like this:

Is this food safe to use?

Default

Found it on Grainger

Materials say SS. So I'm guessing it probably is just cast which would be fine from what I gather?
