Default Leftover ingredient IPA

I bought the supplies to do BM's Centenial Blonde, but I think I'd like more of an IPA, hoppier a little bigger maybe 5% ABV?

Here's what i have on hand.

6 pounds Briess Pilsen (extra light) DME
2 pounds Crystal 45
1 pound Vienna

Hops
1 pound each of
Amarillo
Cascade
Centennial
Nugget

Nottingham, US-05, and S-04 yeasts on hand.

I wouldn't put that whole 2 lbs of crystal in. That might make it a little too sweet.

No, I wasn't planning on using everything, that's just what I have to use.

Update, I can mash if needed as I have a MLT. My turkey fryer is being borrowed right now, and I feel like doing a quick stovetop brew.

I see. I thought you were asking for feedback on a recipe, but I should have noticed that you had POUNDS of hops listed.

So... what's the question then?

What kind of recipe would be good? I've never formulated a recipe before.

Here's what I was thinking:

5.5 gallon batch

5 pounds of extra-light DME
1 pound Carapils/Dextrine
0.5lb Crystal 45

Centennial 1 oz. 60min.
Cascade 0.5oz 20min.
Cascade 0.25oz 10min.
Cascade 0.25oz 5min.
Cascade 0.5oz Dry Hop

Nottingham yeast.

Beer Calculus gives me 30ibu with an ABV of 4.8%

I'm coming up with 49 IBU in ProMash, but maybe that's just because your hops have a different alpha than what ProMash assumes as the default.

If you are really at 30 IBU and a OG of 1.049 (which is what ProMash claims), then you are a little off the bottom side of the chart for an IPA based on style guidelines.

American IPA guidelines are 1.056 - 1.075 OG and 40-72 IBU.

I know carapils adds head retention, but what about crystal 45. Is that color AND sweetness?

Also my only thoughts is with higher IBU, how do I balance it out with what I have.

I recently brewed a DFH 60min. clone which is going to be hoppy as hell, and close to 8% ABV. I was hoping to brew something more sessionable, and that non hop-heads might enjoy.

I'd probably use the extract, some of the vienna (1/2lb? maybe the full lb) and omit the crystal, personally.

As for hopping...nugget for bittering, cascade/amarillo for flavor/aroma?

I did a small batch IIPA with cascade/columbus/centennial and used crystal 40...too much competition with the piney hops and the crystal malt.
