I'd like to have something to take to a Halloween Party. I can brew it 2 weekends from now, but would like to have it bottled and drinkable in 4 weeks from then.

Is this possible? I was hoping to do the Thunderstruck pumpkin, but sounds like it needs longer than that.

Must be extract.

I would suggest a nice English Mild, maybe EdWorts Haus Pale Ale, or Biermunchers Centennial Blonde. any of those should fit your bill, just be sure to pitch enough yeast and have your fermentation temps locked down in a swamp cooler or something similar.

Hefeweizen would also fit the bill. Quick fermenter & you don't really care if it clears well b/c it's supposed to be cloudy.

I second the Hefe.

If you are going to bottle-carb though (and this is for anything) you need about 2 weeks.

You want 3-4 weeks in the primary

So you are looking at 5-6 weeks earliest.

Try to brew it asap otherwise you'll have a nasty tasting beer.

Heres a good Hefe that tastes close to Hacke Pschorr / Franziskaner:

3.00 lb Wheat Dry Extract (8.0 SRM) Dry Extract 42.86 %
2.00 lb Wheat Malt, Ger (2.0 SRM) Grain 28.57 %
1.00 lb Pilsner (2 Row) Ger (2.0 SRM) Grain 14.29 %
0.75 lb Wheat, Torrified (1.7 SRM) Grain 10.71 %
0.25 lb Aromatic Malt (26.0 SRM) Grain 3.57 %
0.75 oz Hallertauer [4.80 %] (60 min) Hops 13.2 IBU
1 Pkgs Hefeweizen Ale (White Labs #WLP300) Yeast-Wheat

Not necessary for a small beer, like the Centennial Blonde, provided you can ferment it at an optimum temperature.
