I'm set to brew a small Imp. Stout batch tomorrow. I'm still new to differences in hop varieties and just wondered how much change this substitution will make. Original recipe called for Goldings (U.S.) but this wasn't available so I went with Styrian Goldings. I'm guessing it's no biggie, it's all different tastes and preferences, but wondering what different flavor one adds over the other. Does it fit an Imp. Stout?

Here is the original schedule (amounts are for 2.13 gallon batch):

Fuggles (U.K.) 0.25 oz, Pellet, 60 minutes
Perle 0.65 oz, Pellet, 60 minutes
Goldings (U.S.) 0.80 oz, Pellet, 20 minutes
Fuggles (U.K.) 0.25 oz, Pellet, 20 minutes

So current would be:

Fuggles (U.K.) 0.25 oz, Pellet, 60 minutes
Perle 0.65 oz, Pellet, 60 minutes
Styrian Goldings (Slovenia) 0.80 oz, Pellet, 20 minutes
Fuggles (U.K.) 0.25 oz, Pellet, 20 minutes

Yes, their aroma/flavor is different (Styrians are related to Fuggles, not EKGs). In a big beer like a RIS with little hop aroma/flavor anyways, I doubt it'll make a huge impact.
