Default Fun on Yuengling tour (Tampa)

Last week I did the brewery tour with a friend. During the tour we were told two things that we found interesting...

1. Light is bad for beer and green bottles are bad (duh). They admit this but say that the marketing department wants green.

2. Bottles and cans are pasteurized but kegs are not.

After the tour it was time to drink samples from the bar. We asked for a bottle of the lager to compare with the draught lager. WOW! Even an untrained nose would have no problem picking up the skunk from the bottle. We pointed it out to the nice lady who gave the tour and she could instantly tell the difference.

It is quite sad that the bottles are skunked before ever leaving the brewery grounds...and that 'marketing' is cool with it.

Something tells me this isn't the first case of a marketing department not being in step with a brewmaster's quest to produce a quality product.

~ cough... BMC... cough ~

I like a little more beer in my beer.

that poor beer suffering the the green bottles! Set it free!!
You start with a full bag of luck and a empty bag of experience, your goal is to fill the bag of experience before you empty your bag of luck
