When do you start recirculating the mash ?
Do you start the pump immediately after dough-in or do you wait for the grain bed to settle ?

I typically start re-circ after I stirred in, give the bed a few minutes to settle and the temperature to even out, then start. All total this may be 5-10 minutes. No real concrete answer here, but simply don't rush; relax and when you are ready then start. A few minutes either direction isn't going to matter.
