Default Is Acetone safe for Stainless Steel?

I need to clean some glue residue (don't ask) off the side of my SS pot and I know Acetone will make quick work of it...will that same acetone damage the SS?

If it did damage the SS you could just gently sand it down and clean with Bar Keepers friend and allow it to re-passivate.

Yes. You can use toluene, mineral spirits, methylethylketone (MEK), acetone, kerosene, gun cleaner to clean stainless. SS is resilient.
