How can you tell how much alcohol is in your beer? Does it have something to do with the S.G. and F.G??? Can someone please explain how I calculate this?

thanks. Oh, one other question that has been bothering me since I joined this forum... what does SWMBO and RDWHAHB stand for?????:ban:

Take a reading of your original gravity (O.G.) BEFORE adding yeast. Then take a reading of your final gravity (F.G.) at the end of fermentation. The difference is the alcohol content. Make sure fermentation is complete by taking readings for 3 or 4 days in a row. If it is at or close to your projected F.G., the beer is done. Example: O.G.9% F.G.3%=6% beer
